The library responds to community requests
After the publication of information about "Health Corners", we were contacted by Ms. Olena Bukhvostova, who works as the head of the Ostrivshchyna Rural Library of the Blyzniukiv community, Lozi district, Kharkiv region. 4 villages of the Ostrivshchyna community, Dunine, Serafimivka, and Valeryanivka do not have a dispensary and to receive medical services they go to the center of the community, where a bus goes once a week.
This became the reason to create a health corner in the library to provide basic services: measuring blood pressure, saturation, and sugar level. Thanks to the benefactors who support us, we bought devices for the library: tonometer, pulse oximeter, thermometer, glucometer and a set of Ukrainian-language books on health topics.
"I would like to sincerely thank "Library Country" for their support, and for responding to the request for help, which we desperately needed. Now residents of the villages of Ostrivshchyna, Dunine, Serafimivka, Valeryanivka and internally displaced people have the opportunity to use a new, unusual for a library service in the "health corner" free of charge: to measure blood pressure, pulse, blood sugar level, saturation, body temperature and get acquainted with modern books that will help preserve the most valuable gift of nature. Let's take care of health through the library and books! I plan to use the donated equipment for the residents of the villages of our Ostrivshchyna community, they deserve it and really need it. It may be necessary to visit someone at home, for example, to measure blood pressure."
