Russia's military aggression in Ukraine forced more than 10 million people, mostly women and children, to leave the country for Europe in order to save the most valuable thing - life. Now more than ever, they need books in their native Ukrainian language, because the "anxious suitcase" is too small for everything that is dear to us.
"Library Country" Charitable Foundation together with the Ukrainian Association of Publishers and Book Distributors and the head of the children's reading promotion project "BaraBooka. The space of the Ukrainian children's book", the expert, children's writer Tetyana Stus prepared lists of literature in the Ukrainian language (the lists are constantly supplemented with new books):
- 400 best books for children 3-16 years old (costs €2200), see the link.
- 500 best books for adults (costs €3500), see the linkpublished in 2020-2022, from 25 publishing houses of Ukraine, which today, in the conditions of hostilities, have the opportunity to supply their books and provided them at cost (publishing prices). This list includes the best classical Ukrainian literature, as well as bestsellers of contemporary Ukrainian writers, laureates and winners of Ukrainian and international literary competitions.
- The list of books according to the curriculum of the Ukrainian school for students in 5-11 grades (75 books costs €500), see the linkas well as board games from Ukrainian manufacturers for the whole family.
For its part, the "Library Country" is ready to provide book logistics, customs clearance, deliver books within 14 days, provide informational support for the project in Ukrainian and European media, as well as organize performances by Ukrainian writers, illustrators, and artists in your library both online and in the format of "live" communication.
